Starring Jessica Chastain and Michael Shannon, George & Tammy is inspired by the true events of George and Tammy’s tumultuous relationship, career and devotion to one another. Remembered as the "First Lady of Country Music," Tammy Wynette’s "Stand By Your Man" remains one of her most well-known songs. After marrying George Jones, the two went on to achieve 30 number one songs between them, including duets like "We’re Gonna Hold On" and "Near You."
Created by Abe Sylvia, who also worked on Chastain’s previous Oscar-winning role in The Eyes of Tammy Faye, George & Tammy premieres Sunday, December 4 at 9PM ET/PT. The six-part limited series will premiere on both Showtime and Paramount Network (following Yellowstone). Episodes will continue to stream every Friday on Showtime and Paramount+ with on-air releases scheduled for Sundays at 9 P.M. on Showtime. (P.S. Paramount Network and Paramount+ are two different streaming options, and only the first episode is airing on Parmount Network.)
