Milan Records has announced the release of Chainsaw Man Original SoundTrack E.P Vol.1, compiling musical tracks from the anime’s first three episodes. The album features tracks composed and written by electronic musician Kensuke Ushio and is now available on multiple music streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music.
Chainsaw Man’s first soundtrack album is one of three volumes of 11 total songs that will be released. Additional soundtracks will be released on November 23, 2022 and December 28.
Of the soundtrack, Ushio offers the following thoughts:
When I first read the original CHAINSAW MAN, I thought, ‘what a mess!,’ and I created the music based on that initial concept. I chopped, stretched, and distorted the finished music, carefully butchering it as if I were grinding the music down – because he is a chainsaw man! This album is the result of that work – messed up chainsaw beats that were created based on that initial impulse. I hope you enjoy it.

Meanwhile, a full music video for Kenshi Yonezu’s popular Chainsaw Man opening theme “KICK BACK” has also been released on the singer’s official YouTube channel. The single hit the 47th spot on Spotify’s Top 50 Global on October 13th, 2022, marking the first time in history that a Japanese artist from Japan has appeared on the chart. The song also debuted in 64th place on the Billboard Global 200 chart and cracked the seventh spot on the Top 10 of Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales.
The music video for “KICK BACK” was released alongside the series’ third episode and was directed by photographer and video director Yoshiyuki Okuyama — a frequent collaborator of Yonezu’s. It also features a cameo from King Gnu lead vocalist Daiki Tsuneta, who co-arranged the original song.
Chainsaw Man is currently streaming on Crunchyroll in select English speaking countries and territories. It describes the synopsis as:
Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita.
One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as “Chainsaw Man” — a man with a devil’s heart.
