Live and Local Tweed hosts online workshops - Tweed Shire Council

Support and information to rebuild and recover.
The Live and Local Tweed music program is hosting virtual workshops designed to help musicians gain greater exposure and a better understanding of the music industry. 
The first free online workshop on Wednesday 11 May 2022 will offer advice on Building Your Brand and Pitching to Press.
Having a professional pitch is a minimum expectation for musicians seeking to make a career in the industry. 
The workshop will provide guidance from experts to educate musicians on industry standards and tips to stand out from the crowd.
It will feature a keynote presentation from Beehive PR followed by a panel discussion including Katy Williams (Revolutions Management), Sammie Walsh, Liz Browne and Sosefina Fuamoli (Beehive PR) and facilitated by Phoebe Rose (Arts Northern Rivers.)
Held from 6 pm to 8 pm, the panel discussion which will include time for Q & As from the online audience.

The second free online workshop will focus on The Business of Music and will be held on Wednesday 18 May 2022.
Artists realise that in addition to creating music, they are running their own businesses or partnering with others to make a career.
This workshop covers a range of income streams that musicians can consider when planning to earn a living in the industry. 
The workshop will feature a keynote presentation from Vyvienne Abla (Vyva Entertainment).
Vyv will also participate in the panel discussion along with Bobby Alu and Ollie Twohill, facilitated by local producer and artist Matt Aitchison.
The virtual workshop will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Zoom with the link https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87456702462. The Zoom meeting ID is 874 5670 2462. 
While the workshops are designed for musicians and those active in the music industry, they are also open to anyone interested or curious about the workings of the industry.
Tweed Shire Council has partnered with the Live Music Office, Music NSW, and Griffith University to support the local live music scene through the Live and Local Tweed project.
In addition to the online professional development workshops, the project will include a free “micro-festival” in Murwillumbah on three Saturdays in May (7, 14 and 21).
The music will be on each Saturday from 10:30 am to 1:45 pm.
