Selena Gomez has officially released a documentary about her life.
Gomez reveals a lot of the dark times she has gone through in her life and career, from a seven-year-old actress on Barney to becoming one of the biggest stars on the planet.
The documentary is titled “Selena Gomez; My Mind & Me”; it is directed by Alek Keshishian, who also directed a documentary for Madonna back in 1991 called “Madonna: Truth or Dare.”
The documentary takes place through a six-year journey in which Gomez is said to detail many dark moments. Some of these dark moments may allegedly be related to mental health. Gomez has become a massive mental health advocate over the years, even launching a wellness brand in 2021 called “Wondermind” with her mother, Mandy Teefey, as one of the co-founders of the brand. As stated on the company’s website, “Wondermind is the world’s first mental fitness ecosystem.”
Another topic revolving around mental health that will be focused on throughout the doc will be Gomez’s battle with bipolar disorder, as she was diagnosed in 2018.
Along with the documentary, Gomez also released a new song called “My Mind & Me.”
All in all, it will be exciting and heartwarming to see a more open side of Gomez in terms of the bad moments that have not been shown publicly by the media. It seems as if it will be very intimate to watch Selena talk about her truth rather than just speculating on social media and trying to figure out what she’s gone through in her life and in her career.
