The Eurovision Song Contest dominates the night, but there’s also the FA Cup Final, Spinal Tap, Abba, Later - with Jools Holland, Carey Mulligan in Far From the Madding Crowd, and the final of The Games . . .
Eurovision Song Contest, 8.00pm, RTÉ One
MC supremo Marty Whelan returns to the commentary box for coverage of the 66th staging of the annual song competition, hosted by Italian TV and radio presenter Alessandro Cattelan and singers Laura Pausini and Mika from PalaOlimpico in Turin.
The current favourite to win is Ukraine’s entry Kalush Orchestra with their song Stefania, who have been granted special permission to leave the country to perform in Tel Aviv and Amsterdam ahead of the main event.
Once again, Ireland failed to even make the final, as Brooke Scullion’s spirited performance in Thursday’s semi-final wasn’t able to get the votes required to make the ten qualifiers.
On the other hand, if Sweden manage to finish on top tonight, they’ll equal Ireland’s record of seven Eurovision wins.
Match of the Day Live: The FA Cup Final, 4.00pm, BBC One
It’s Chelsea v Liverpool (kick-off 4.45pm) as Gary Lineker (below) presents coverage of the FA Cup final from Wembley Stadium, where these teams meet in a cup final for the second time this season.

Liverpool came out on top in the Carabao Cup final in February following a dramatic penalty shootout that finished 11-10 in their favour.

It centres on an ageing British rock band try to revive their fortunes by embarking on a US tour, with a film-maker on hand to record the mayhem.

Pretty sure this was on just a few weeks ago, but here’s a collection of memorable BBC-based performances by the Swedish super group.

Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad became international stars in 1974 when Waterloo triumphed at the Eurovision Song Contest in Brighton, marking the start of their rise to fame.
Various outings were captured by BBC cameras over the next few years and several are featured here alongside their Top of the Pops debut, archive interviews and footage of many hits.

The long-running live music show is back in a new location at the Alexandra Palace Theatre in north London, with a return to the original bands-in-the-round format.
Jools (above) is joined on the first edition by Isle of Wight duo Wet Leg and hotly tipped Nigerian artist Obongjayar, who both recently performed at the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival in Cardiff.
Also on the show are American singer and guitarist Joe Bonamassa, and London singer-songwriter Cat Burns, making her TV debut with her top 5 hit Go.

The story’s about a boy who is raised by his mother and her four sisters in 1930s’ Ireland.

But the simple, ordered lives of these five women are thrown into turmoil by the appearance of their brother, an ailing elderly missionary who has come home to die.
